Ken Anderson

Chair, Department of Computer Science

Professor Ken Anderson has been elected by his colleagues to serve as chair of the Department of Computer Science.

Anderson joined the department in July 1998 and received tenure in 2005. He has served as an associate chair of the department, an ATLAS fellow and, most recently, as the associate dean of education in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. He was a participant in the first cohort of the National Center for Women & Information Technology Pacesetters program, a program designed to recruit more women to the field of computer science and encourage them to pursue their careers in technology. As part of his Pacesetters efforts, Anderson led the charge to create the Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science.

Anderson succeeds Professor Elizabeth Jessup, who has served as chair since 2017.
