In her role as Faculty Research Associate for the Research Hub for Youth Organizing and Education Policy (The Research Hub), Siomara provides leadership, conducts research and evaluation, and maintains the Research Hub’s partnerships and projects.  Her work focuses on using research, data and evaluation as tools for building alliances and driving social justice and equity-minded reform in public institutions.  Her areas of interest include equity in education, making research accessible to a broader public, education evaluation, and faculty and student diversity in higher education. 

Prior to joining CU Engage, Siomara was a visiting scholar and research associate for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she worked on the Initiative for Faculty Race and Diversity.  She was a postdoctoral fellow with the University of California All Campus Consortium on Research for Diversity.

Siomara received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Education from the University of California Los Angeles and her B.A. in English from the University of California Irvine.
