COVID-19-Ready Dashboard

About the Dashboard

In general, dashboard information is updated by 8 a.m. with results from the previous day of testing. There may be periodic updates at other times to reflect new information received. Information about the fall semester has been archived.

More about the dashboard

The University of Colorado Boulder COVID-19-Ready Dashboard has an "A" rating from the Yale University "We Rate Covid Dashboards" project.

Please note: CU Boulder positive cases are included in countywide case counts and monitored by Boulder County Public Health.

The positive test results on this dashboard include only results from polymerase chain reaction, or PCR, diagnostic tests completed through CU Boulder Medical Services. The results shown here do not include testing completed via outside testing or primary care physicians. Since this dashboard includes only positive results from diagnostic testing through CU Boulder Medical Services, this information does not include positive cases involving members of the CU Boulder community who are studying, teaching, working or conducting research exclusively remotely and not accessing any on-campus services.

In the time period from March to August 1, 2020, CU Boulder Medical Services performed 845 PCR tests that resulted in 66 positive.

We conduct hundreds of molecular PCR monitoring tests per day as part of our proactive monitoring. Those with positive results are referred to our health clinic for conclusive diagnostic PCR testing. Most who are referred for diagnostic tests are presumed positive, so a high positivity rate is expected. That rate of positivity will vary by sample group—no single representation of results should be interpreted as the positivity rate of the virus on the campus as a whole.

Summary of move-in week (8/17-8/22)
  • During move-in week, all on-campus resident students either provided a recent test or were tested.  Most of our on-campus residents arrived with their COVID-19 test completed and submitted their negative result for approval by medical staff.

  • For the 2,195 students who needed a test upon arrival, our CU Boulder Medical Services team, in partnership with campus researchers, a team of volunteers and staff from across campus, completed diagnostic COVID-19 tests.
  • For the students who completed tests on campus as part of move-in week, eight tested positive.
  • Overall, there were 16 total positives through CU Boulder Medical Services between 8/17 and 8/22.
  • Some of the students with a positive result returned to their permanent residence to isolate themselves. Students who were unable to return to their permanent residence were provided with isolation space on campus.
  • We’re starting the semester with approximately 250 beds set aside for isolation, and about 2.4% of the spaces are occupied. All students who moved into the residence halls had a negative COVID-19 test.
