PhD

Alyssa received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and joined CAPS in 2018 as a Doctoral Fellow in Psychological Assessment. She completed her doctoral internship in health service psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, she has dual-master’s degrees in Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University. Alyssa has extensive clinical experience working with a diverse college student population in various inpatient, outpatient and university settings. Her area of interest and expertise is in the treatment of eating disorders, college student development, neuropsychology and the intersection of learning disabilities and academic achievement. When she’s not working, Alyssa enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling and supporting the local art scene.

Alyssa utilizes a collaborative, integrated approach to treatment in her work with college students that draws on interpersonal, relational and psychodynamic frameworks.
