Dr. Heermann graduated from the University of Denver with his doctoral degree in clinical psychology in August 2010. He received his masters degree from Arizona State University and his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University. Prior to coming to CU, Dr. Heermann completed internships at the University of Denver Health and Counseling Center and the VA Hospital in Denver.

The thing you'd most like to do

Dr. Heermann spends most of his free time outdoors cross country skiing and hiking, or traveling in search of adventures in new destinations.

Areas of interest

Dr. Heermann brings therapeutic experience working with students who present with GLBTQ identities, men's issues, sex and sexuality, PTSD, social and specific phobias, and giftedness. He has extensive training in psychological assessment, working in both cognitive and personality testing. He has trained and supervised several students in the assessment of of learning disorders, including dyslexia and ADHD. Dr. Heermann has facilitated a number of therapeutic process and skills groups including ACT, DBT, and the Gender Creative Group. He is currently the coordinator of the Transgender Care Team at CU  Boulder.
