Heather Locke
LPC • LAC • Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Treatment Program Coordinator

Heather remembers reading about The University of Colorado, Boulder in 9th grade and knowing that it would offer the perfect fit for her college experience. While pursuing her BA in Sociology, she participated in an internship at Boulder Valley Women's Health Center, which provided her first involvement with counseling work. The impact of the change she saw effected by the support of counselors led to her career in counseling. After graduating with a MA and EdM in Counseling Psychology, Heather spent more than 14 years working in non-profit community mental health care serving clients with chronic mental illness and often substance use issues. Through this work, her belief in recovery and the power of change has only been strengthened. Heather couldn't be happier to be part of the CU community again!
