Biography

Jennifer Carter joined CU Boulder in late 2016 to help establish and develop a compliance and audit function within the Campus Controller’s Office. She has over 20 years of experience in financial and regulatory audit and compliance roles. Before coming to CU, Jennifer worked in public accounting and held numerous roles within the highly regulated healthcare industry. She collaborates with staff and departments across CU Boulder as well as colleagues at the CU System-level to help our campus achieve effective and efficient financial stewardship and compliance with federal and state regulations and university policies and procedures. She is a member of the CU Boulder Campus Compliance Working Group. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Transylvania University. She is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She participates in several industry-leading professional organizations including the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
