Series

  • Dates will be announced.

Note: This course is presented annually. You will register once for attendance at all four sessions.

This course will specifically focus on how accounting is managed at CU Boulder. In addition, GAAP accounting concepts will be reviewed.

Learning Objectives

In this course, CCO's Area Accountants will:

  • Cover revenues and expenses, liabilities, and assets
  • Provide an overview regarding CU Boulder financial oversight
  • Review CU financial statements.
  • Address how the fund types are differentiated and
  • Discuss what revenues and expenses can be recorded in our respective funds

This class will also cover CU Boulder-specific policies, such as sensitive expenses, gift cards, donations, purchase of alcohol and other topics.

There are no prerequisites for the class, and while the content will be applicable for anyone involved with CU Boulder finance, this class will not cover basic accounting concepts. For those more interested in accounting basics, Accounting 101, offered in the fall, may be more beneficial.

This class will focus on program SpeedTypes.  For project training, see Financial Award Management on the CCO website.
