The Accounting 101 series is designed for departmental administrators and staff who have accounting or financial responsibilities but limited accounting or bookkeeping training.

Plan to attend all four (4) sessions to receive the full benefit of the cumulative content and credit for completing the course.

Learning Objectives

This class covers the following and how they fit into the university environment:

  • assets, liabilities, owner’s equity, revenue and expenses;
  • accrual vs. cash basis of accounting;
  • debits and credits;
  • the accounting equation; and
  • balance sheet and income statement.
