September’s Monthly Ethics & Compliance Education Series features the University of Colorado Office of Information Security and will focus on the impacts of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

In this session, our guests and presenters Brad Judy, Information Security Officer, and Sarah Braun, Assistant Information Security Officer, will provide:

  • An overview of GDPR:  what it is, how it is different and why it matters to us
  • Highlights of how GDPR impacts our daily work at CU
  • Insight into the ways GDPR is influencing privacy best practices as well as new state laws in the United States

The EU’s regulation has had a large impact on how the world things about privacy with both broad direct impacts on many organizations as well as indirect impacts through shaping how people view privacy.  This presentation will be sure to highlight the compliance impacts as well as the ethical opportunities a new regulation such as GDPR provides our campus community.

Ample time for audience Q&A will be provided during and at the conclusion of the session.
