October’s Monthly Ethics & Compliance Education Series welcomes the return of Teresa Wroe, Director of Education and Prevention as she is joined by Regina Tirella, Director of Remedial and Protective Measures from the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC) for Part II of last academic year’s presentation on civil rights in education.

In this session, Teresa and Regina will speak to:

  • Why diversity and inclusion matters
  • Key areas of concern based on the Campus Climate Survey
  • Current educational efforts around Inclusive Excellence and Unconscious Bias
  • Campus Climate Response Team as well as other internal and campus resources

An in-depth case study discussion among session attendees will provide opportunity for personal learning – connecting that which can seem abstract to specific situations you may experience in your role on-campus.  A brief introductory overview of OIEC’s role on-campus, university policies and the requirements around mandatory reporting will support informed discussion among attendees.

Whether through conducting fair and unbiased investigations, providing remedies and accommodations, or supporting prevention through educational trainings to the campus community, OIEC remains committed to preventing and eliminating discrimination and harassment.
