November’s Monthly Ethics & Compliance Education Series welcomes Elvie Henson, Managing Associate University Counsel and Alex Loyd, Sr. Assistant University Counsel for a Conversation on Free Expression – what it is, what it is not and what it means at CU Boulder.
Freedom of expression, as guaranteed under the First Amendment, and academic freedom, as defined by the Laws of the Regents, are more than legal requirements on our campus. They are connected to our values contained in the Colorado Creed of acting with integrity and respecting the rights of others while reinforcing our Inclusive Excellence initiative.

A review of applicable state and Regent laws as well as campus policies, procedures and resources will be included in Elvie and Alex’s conversation, providing attendees with a well-rounded baseline knowledge of the aspects of free expression. Ample time for audience Q&A will be provided during the “town hall” style conversation.
