Academics

  • Review your degree requirements with your advisor. Verify graduation deadlines for your college and your deans’ office.

  • Apply for graduation online through the student portal.  More information available on Registrar’s Graduation webpage.

  • Update your permanent address in the BuffPortal to ensure you receive your diploma. Diplomas are mailed about eight weeks after the commencement ceremony. If the address shown will be incorrect at that time, select "Change Address" to create a new diploma address. The post office will not forward your diploma if you submit a change of address with them.

  • Clear your records. Is and IFs can stop graduation. Your professor must clear them before the deadline set by your dean’s office. This also holds true for Continuing Education courses. Grades must be in before the deadlines, and your dean’s office must be notified.

  • Drop further courses. If you have already registered for future courses in your current degree program for an upcoming term but are graduating, it is your responsibility to drop all your courses. Students who graduate and plan to enroll at CU Boulder for further study must reapply to the university for a graduate degree or a second bachelor’s degree. Those who simply wish to take coursework without pursuing a degree should consider applying through Continuing Education as nondegree students, which does not require an application fee or transcripts. Please call the Office of Admissions at 303-492-6301 for further information on degree programs or Continuing Education at 303-492-5148 for nondegree student information.

Financial

  • Pay outstanding bills.  Any financial obligations you have (fines, tickets, fees, etc.) must be cleared at the Bursar’s Office in Regent 150. You can view and pay your bill on BuffPortal. (See detailed instructions on the Bursar’s Office website.)

  • Sign up for direct deposit.  Confirmation deposit refunds, less outstanding debt, will be released by the Bursar’s Office and will be directly deposited into your bank account.  You are required to sign up for direct deposit on BuffPortal to receive your refund. See the Bursar's Office Refund page for more information.

  • Senior Class Gift:  The Seniors Creating Future Buffs Scholarship provides the opportunity to give back to the heart of the university: its students. Come together with thousands of other seniors to make this scholarship a reality. Make a donation of any amount.
