Commencement recognizes and celebrates students’ academic achievement while inspiring them to go forth and positively impact humanity. Our commencement rituals bring our graduates’ extended community together to honor our shared bonds and traditions, and certify each class into fellowship with the University.

Many traditions are a part of our commencement, including Academic Dress, display of the University of Colorado Mace and the Presidential Chain of Office, use of the University Seal, the reading of the Norlin Charge, and signing of the Alma Mater.
