Spring Ceremony

The campus commencement ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, in Folsom Stadium at 8:30 a.m., with the traditional procession from the Norlin Quadrangle beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Thank you to all of you who have volunteered at past university commencement ceremonies. We also encourage new volunteers to join us in this celebration, whether you are faculty, staff, alumni, or even a supportive community member. Marshals are a vital part of a successful commencement ceremony!

Marshal Regalia

Regalia is required for volunteers to participate in the commencement ceremony at Folsom Field. Please reserve your regalia by Wednesday, March 29.

Rental regalia may be picked up in Balch Fieldhouse during the following times:

  • Wednesday, May 10th from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 11th from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Friday, May 12th from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Regalia Returns

After the ceremony, please return your regalia to the Balch Fieldhouse during the times mentioned above. Please note the CU Bookstore will not accept rental returns.  If your recognition ceremony is after the May 12th return times, please contact Clay Rogers at Jostens (clay.rogers@jostens.com or 970-617-5970) to request a return shipping label.

If rental apparel (gown, hood, and cap) is not returned following use, you may be charged for the full replacement value of the item(s).  Caps and tassels are yours to keep.

Marshal’s Luncheon

The Marshal's luncheon for the commencement ceremony will be held on Monday, May 8th from noon - 2 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. RSVP regrets only, to Mary Jane Campbell or commencement@colorado.edu. 

Chancellor’s Brunch

Marshals are invited to attend the Chancellor’s Brunch, immediately following the ceremony in the tent on Sewall Lawn.
