Ravis Henry Visits CNAIS, Speaks at Fiske

Ravis Henry

Ravis Henry, Diné, Towering House Clan and born for the Coyote Pass-Jemez Clan, visited our campus early this semester on January 25 and 26 from Canyon de Chelly in Chinle, AZ. We were thrilled to host him at CNAIS and contribute to "The Navajo Night Sky" event for which he spoke at Fiske. Henry shared winter stories of the creation of the stars, as well as the Diné perspective of various constellations.

Henry is a historian, storyteller, traditional knowledge holder, park ranger, silversmith, and a fingered spiritual being. Currently, Ravis is a Park Ranger with the National Park Service and has been working in the green and grey since 2009, mostly all at Canyon de Chelly National Monument. He works in the field of Interpretation and Education, sharing the stories and history of his people with visitors from around the world.
