Jared Bahir Browsh is an audio producer with experience in public and community broadcasting. He received his BA in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in Media Studies and Production from Temple University and his PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication from University of Colorado Boulder.
His research examines the political economy of media, journalism and culture, particularly the interaction between ownership, policy, and history and how it influences representations of race, gender, ethnicity and sexuality in popular culture and media content. He is currently finishing his book that examines race, gender, sexuality and politics in content produced by Hanna-Barbera and the Cartoon Network, scheduled for publication by McFarland Books in fall 2020.
He also oversees student media on campus while helping to produce podcasts and audio content for the Journalism Department and other members of the CU and Boulder community. He teaches classes on media law, ethics, history, representation, audio and multimedia journalism.
