Journalism
Hailing from Denver Colorado, Mason Owens graduated with a BA in political science with a minor in music at the University of Colorado Boulder in the spring of 2021. He is thrilled to be back at CU pursuing a master's degree in journalism, a goal that stems from a lifelong passion for writing and other media. Through personal experience, he has become a vocal advocate for the importance of mental health and hopes to one day produce journalistic works that contribute to its de-stigmatization.
Outside of school, Mason enjoys stand-up comedy, Dungeons and Dragons, drawing comics, and performing music. He has been a part of a variety of musical groups and productions over the years, including CU's own University Choir and Eklund Opera Program.
