Originally from Arlington, Virginia, Julia Barnes earned her BA in English literature and language at Virginia Tech in 2016. In college, living among the ancient Blue Ridge mountains of Southwest Virginia nurtured her love of the outdoors. Julia was involved with her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, and played on the ultimate frisbee team.
After graduation, Julia spent 3 years working as a Professional Development and Marking Coordinator at a non-profit in Washington, DC. With interest in the environment and pop culture, Julia is now pursuing a master’s degree in journalism at CU Boulder. Julia enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, photography, design, HBO, and Moscow mules.
