Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Ashley Carter earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Spanish language and literature at Georgia Southern University. She is now pursuing her MA in journalism entrepreneurship at CU Boulder with hopes of combining her passion for foreign language with multimedia journalism.
As a freelance writer, Ashley’s work has been published by a variety of media outlets including Time, Huffington Post, Mantra Wellness Magazine and others. Her professional interests include health and wellness, climate change, Spanish for global competence and travel. She continues to write today for her personal blog and is in the process of writing her first children’s book.
Ashley has traveled and lived abroad in Spain, enjoys training for long-distance triathlons and spending time outdoors with her camera and dog. Some of her favorite subjects in photography are nature, mopeds and historic architecture.
