Anthony Pinter is an Information Science PhD student who works with Dr. Jed Brubaker and the Identity Lab. His research focuses on how people's identities change across social media platforms during life transitions. In his work, he focuses primarily on how online identity changes in the wake of romantic break ups, but he has also investigated how individuals' online identities change during gender transition. Prior to coming to CU Boulder, Anthony completed his B.S. and M.S. in Information Sciences and Technology at the Pennsylvania State University. He is highly active in the wider CU Boulder community, serving as the Vice President of External Affairs for the United Government of Graduate Students (UGGS) for the 2020-2021 year. In his spare time, Anthony is the high jump/multi-events coach for the Boulder High track team, and trains for and races in long distance cross country mountain bike races like the Lutsen 99'er and Leadville 100.
