Information Science

Anthony Pinter is a PhD Candidate in Information Science who works with Dr. Jed Brubaker and the Identity Lab. His research investigates how people's identities change across social media platforms during life transitions. While he primarily focuses on how online identity is constructed via connections to others after a romantic break-up, he has also investigated how individuals' online identities change during gender transition. Prior to coming to CU Boulder, Anthony completed his BS and MS in Information Sciences and Technology at the Pennsylvania State University. He is highly active in the wider CU community, serving as the Vice President of External Affairs for the CU Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG) for the 2020-2021 year. In his spare time, Anthony enjoys riding bikes and skis whenever possible, for as long as possible.
