Yessica del Rincón is a master’s student in the communication program studying rhetoric and culture. Her research interests focus on the U.S. - Mexico border, intersectional identities, Latinx populations, public information, government messaging, and social change.
Yessica holds a BA in communication from Arizona State University. Her professional background entails social media management and content creation, campaign development, and media relations. Yessica has served as a Public Information Officer for the State of Arizona in the field of crisis and emergency risk communication. There, she collaborated with city, county, state, federal, and tribal agencies, as well as partners from Sonora, MX, to cultivate relationships and disseminate public information collateral. Her passion for community engagement also led to experiences working with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Arizona where she helped strategize ways of increasing Latinx voter participation and supporting the Arizona State Senate through constituent services.
