Notes from the Class of 2003

Adam Cole (Jour) is serving as the public affairs office for the U.S. Navy's Amphibious Force, 7th Fleet in Okinawa, Japan. Cole oversees social media strategy, visual information production, and media operations for 13 units that fall under this military command. He deployed with the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group this past fall, conducting a bilateral exercise with the Philippines and making port calls to Singapore and Hong Kong - overseeing social media/media output throughout the deployment. He continues to proudly serve.

Alex Stone (Jour) us a national correspondent for ABC News Radio who is based in Los Angeles, California. He has reported on many high-profile events, including Hurricane Katrina, the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, the Carr Fire in California and memorial services for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. 

Abby Chin (Jour) works for NBC Sports Boston as the Celtics courtside reporter, a role she has held since 2013. In 2018, she was part of NBC’s coverage team for the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Korea. Abby lives near Boston with her husband, Mike Schmidt, daughter, Mabel, and son, Silas. 

Jake Loskutoff (Comm) is an award-winning videographer, editor and producer based in the greater Los Angeles area. In addition to myriad collaborations with studios and media groups, he works with Fox Sports West, where he won an Emmy in 2014 for multi-camera videography.

Alicia Wallace (Jour) recently completed a Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in economics and business journalism at Columbia University. Before that she was the national marijuana policy and business reporter for The Denver Post. She will be staying in New York City and joining CNN Business as a senior writer covering cannabusiness. 

Ian Weintraub (Comm) is vice president of marketing for Limelight Media, a Los Angeles-based entertainment marketing firm. He also heads the company’s New York office. Ian has worked with A-list talent such as Sylvester Stallone and developed successful engagement programs for Samsung, TaylorMade-Adidas, Motorola and Lexus.

Nicholas Kant (Jour, Law’06) is deputy attorney general for New Jersey and serves as assistant chief of the banking and insurance section. In his free time, he swims and runs and has completed six marathons. Nicholas lives in Princeton, New Jersey.

Effie Seibold (MJour; Law’07) is the training director for the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office and was an adjunct professor at Colorado Law. She lives in Boulder with her husband and their two incredibly active little boys.

Jake Loskutoff (Comm) was recently nominated for three Emmy Awards for his work with the Los Angeles Angels, Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings. He continues to grow his production company, LIFEinaVAN Studios, and just completed his first marathon.
