Subaltern Women, Sexual Violence, and Trauma in Ovid's Amores

A study of Ovid's Amores which focuses on depictions of trauma endured by subaltern women. Ovid's dramatization of sexual trauma indicates that impudicae experience the same sexual modesty as pudicae citizens and thus he enhances our understanding of sexuality in Ancient Rome.
