On-campus housing
There are 24 residence halls on campus, which include residential academic programs (RAPs), living and learning communities (LLCs) and traditional living experiences. Every effort will be made to accommodate your housing preferences, including your preference of the gender of your roommate or the gender designation of the hall/floor you are assigned to. Prior to arrival on campus, please contact University Housing (student housing) at universityhousing@colorado.edu or at 303-492-6673.
Campus resources
All-gender bathrooms
There are over 100 all-gender bathrooms throughout campus, including single-stall changing rooms and showers at the Rec Center.
Discrimination and harassment
The good news is you have many options and the campus community really does care about making sure discrimination and harassment is addressed. Visit the Discrimination and Harassment page for descriptions and contact information of your on-campus resources.
If you are unsure of what you want to do about a situation or just want to vent to someone, please come and talk to Morgan Seamont. We are happy to listen and talk about options on how to deal with various issues.
Losing the support of your parents/family
This is an unfortunate reality for a number of LGBTQ+ students. CISC is here to support you in whatever way we can. If you would like someone to talk to more in depth, we recommend Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) or the Office of Victim Assistance.
If you are worried about a loss of financial support, the Office of Financial Aid has the option of a financial aid appeal. This appeal process is an application to be independent of your parents and is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. You can also connect directly with Financial Aid and they can help you understand all of your options.
