Already acknowledged as a premier engineering program, the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at CU Boulder aspires to climb into the top 10 in the nation. To accomplish this, our vision includes expanding our most innovative programs, hiring outstanding instructors and researchers, providing state-of-the-art facilities, and attracting the best and brightest students.
Your charitable donations help us continue our tradition of excellence and provide us with the resources needed to educate the engineering leaders of the future. We sincerely appreciate financial support of any amount.
We encourage you to support one of our highest-priority funds described below or another that aligns with your philanthropic priorities.
The 1904 Society, named to commemorate the start of the chemical engineering program at CU Boulder, is a community of alumni and friends whose gifts help the department to thrive.
Support from members of the 1904 Society is essential to help the department:
Gifts to this fund are discretionary and allow the department chair to respond quickly to needs and opportunities as they emerge. Since the 1904 Society launched in 2014, our members have enabled the department to send AIChE student officers to conferences, to purchase new undergraduate lab distillation equipment, to assist with faculty recruitment visits and to host events that build community among alumni, faculty, staff and students.
The Recruiting and Events Fund directly supports department recruitment efforts, allowing the department to put its best foot forward with prospective faculty members and graduate students. This discretionary fund allows the department greater flexibility to cover expenditures such as alcoholic beverages not permitted by public funding.
Providing for the department in your estate plan is a simple way to make a significant impact and create a lasting legacy. Estate giving can take many forms, including income-producing charitable trusts while you are living or leaving a bequest to the department. Contact us for more information about estate planning.
