In 2014, a group of passionate and dedicated alumni formed the 1904 Society to support the ChBE Department and its students. The society takes its name from the year the original chemical engineering degree launched at CU Boulder. The degree program has since evolved into a full-fledged Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, a world-renowned center for education and research.
The 1904 Society supports the CU Boulder Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering efforts to:
- Recruit and retain outstanding students, staff and faculty.
- Provide and maintain world-class training, research equipment and facilities.
- Forge meaningful connections within the ChBE community.
Gifts to this fund are discretionary and allow the department chair to respond quickly to needs and opportunities as they emerge. Since the 1904 Society launched in 2014, our members have enabled the department to send AIChE student officers to conferences, to purchase new undergraduate lab distillation equipment, to assist with faculty recruitment visits and to host events that build community among alumni, faculty, staff and students.
