From the Chancellor - State of the Campus | Building a More Anti-Racist Community
Jan. 27, 2021
Last month, I said we would take a deeper look at the issues facing our campus and community through a series of conversations with campus leaders.
Today, we are kicking off our new virtual State of the Campus series with a discussion on how we will build a more anti-racist community. Joining me in this conversation are Teresa Hernandez, Lisa Flores and Bob Boswell, who are playing critical roles in helping to promote diversity, equity and inclusion on our campus.
This conversation is just the beginning. We hope you will seek out new ways to engage as we address this issue strategically and holistically, because we can’t do it from the top down. We need solutions that come from throughout the campus.
Next month I will talk with other campus leaders to discuss how we are coping with COVID and addressing mental health challenges on Feb. 10, and on Feb. 24 we’ll take a look at our financial outlook.
Thank you for your continued support as we build a stronger campus community in this new year filled with new opportunities.
