Shemin Ge received her Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins University in 1990 and joined the faculty of the Geological Sciences Department at CU in 1993. She is a hydrogeologist interested in studying groundwater physics, particularly how groundwater is related to energy transport and rock deformation in subsurface. Here are a few example topics of her past and current research projects: impact of climate change on groundwater resources, thermal energy storage in subsurface, groundwater and induced earthquakes, water and petroleum migration history in sedimentary basins, groundwater flow and safety of subsurface nuclear waste repository.
