Brenda Romero is an ethnomusicologist specializing in music and spirituality and music and cultural interaction. Her specializations are in North American Indian and Latin American music, especially the music of the borderlands of the U.S. and Mexico. Her long-term research is focused on the Matachines Danza found on both sides of the border, and representing a mixing of European and New World Indigenous music and dance traditions.
