Madelyn Zander
Information Science Lead
Lead Graduate Fellow 2021-22

I am a second year PhD student in the Department of Information Science, my research interests focus on information infrastructure and their societal impacts. My current research project uses ethnographic methods to study the rapid expansion of the data center industry in the Western United States and the Arctic North to better understand the widespread impacts upon data law, privacy and security, environmental and natural resource management, and the workforce.

Over the last two years working as a teaching assistant for foundational courses in information science, I have developed a passion for teaching and developing a broader teaching skillset. I've learned that there are many types of leaders in the classroom, and I look forward to growing as an instructor during my time with the Lead network!
