Work through the requirements of the Certificate in College Teaching, the CTL's most popular teaching certificate, in a group of peers who are at a similar stage in the process. Groups will meet regularly throughout the year beginning in September 2021

Just Getting Started Cohort

Are you interested in completing the Center for Teaching & Learning’s Certificate in College Teaching (CCT) within a supportive community of fellow teachers? Would you like to build new relationships and get feedback on your teaching materials from peers across the CU Boulder campus? If so, then this is the group for you! Come join your colleagues as we complete the CCT requirements together. We will attend the 20 required workshops, brainstorm how you can complete the 20 discipline-specific hours in one academic year, schedule one Video Teacher Consultation (VTC) in the fall and one in the spring, find an appropriate faculty member to come observe your class, and work as a group to complete the final CCT portfolio, including the teaching and diversity statements.

This cohort is open to graduate student and postdoctoral scholars on the CU Boulder campus who:

  • Are in good standing in your program of study
  • Are scheduled to teach in both the fall and spring semesters of the coming academic year
  • Can commit to monthly cohort meetings, either remotely or in-person
  • Have attended fewer than five CTL workshops and completed no classroom observations. If you are further along, please consider the advanced cohort below.

All potential cohort members will have an individual meeting with the Professional Development Lead early in the fall semester.

This cohort is limited to the first fifteen participants able to commit.

Cohort meetings will occur in-person in the CASE building on Main Campus, or you can join remotely via Zoom. Meetings are scheduled from 9:00-10:00am Mountain Time on August 27, September 24, October 29, November 19, and December 3.
