Work through the requirements of the Certificate in College Teaching, the CTL's most popular teaching certificate, in a group of peers who are at a similar stage in the process. Groups will meet regularly throughout the year beginning in August 2021

Nearing Completion Cohort

Did you start attending Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) workshops early in your graduate studies and just became too busy to return? Have you had a classroom observation or two but just cannot get over the last hurdle to complete your Certificate in College Teaching (CCT)? Then come join your colleagues in a collaborative environment where we will finish and be more competitive on the academic job market. We will complete your remaining CTL workshops, finalize recording your discipline specific workshops, complete your Video Teacher Consultations (VTC), get your faculty observations submitted and work in a supportive environment of fellow teachers to complete your CCT portfolio.

This cohort is open to all graduate students and postdoctoral scholars on the CU Boulder campus that have attended more than five CTL workshops and at least one VTC done. This cohort is limited to the first fifteen participants able to commit.

Additional requirements:

  • Be in good standing in your program of study
  • Have a teaching assignment for the semester that you may need to have a VTC and/or faculty observation done
  • Commit to monthly meetings as a cohort to check in on progress, peer review teaching/diversity statements. Depending on where you are at in the process, you may join the group at a later point in the year. Reach out to preston.cumming@colorado.edu for details.

Cohort meetings will occur in-person in the CASE building on Main Campus, or you can join remotely via Zoom. Meetings are scheduled from 9:00-10:00am Mountain Time on August 26, September 30, October 28, December 2.
