Cam Holt hails from California’s beautiful Central Coast. In 2013, he attended the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music in pursuit of a BM in tuba performance while studying under Jim Self, Norman Pearson and Doug Tornquist. He would later return for graduate studies in 2018 and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the CU Boulder College of Music under the instruction of Mike Dunn. He ultimately aspires to enter the world of collegiate education while maintaining an active performance career.

Holt is a seasoned tubist who has played with ensembles such as the Disneyland Band and found much success in the world of brass chamber music. His highlights include advancing to the quarter-final round of the 51st Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition with the CU Boulder Graduate Brass Quintet in Residence, Ensemble Flatirons, as well as organizing an international tour with performances in Denmark and Sweden with his brass quintet, Two Button Brass. He is an avid freelancer and spent his early career in Los Angeles where he played professionally in classical and contemporary settings alike. Holt is also very active in musical outreach and community engagement efforts and takes great joy in sharing the unique qualities of the tuba with anyone and everyone around him.
