
Lecturer
Karen earned a Master's of Arts degree in educational equity and cultural diversity with an emphasis in culturally and linguistically diverse education from the University of Colorado Boulder. At the IEC, she specializes in experiential learning and academic writing. She also serves as a primary advisor. She previously worked as an instructor at Truman College in Chicago, Illinois, and at ELS in Denver, Colorado. She also taught overseas in South Korea at the university level and was a teacher for several years in Colorado public high schools. Karen has been a member of Colorado TESOL for many years and has presented at conferences. She enjoys hiking and fly-fishing.
