The Rocky Mountain Dialogues on Mindfulness in Higher Education is an annual gathering of faculty, staff, and students along the Front Range who are interested in the role of mindfulness and other contemplative practices in higher education. CU Boulder was delighted to host this gathering on March 9, 2018. Responding to an increased need for psychological support on college campuses among students, staff and faculty, we focused the gathering thematically on Contemplative Strategies and Resources for Learning and Thriving. About 100 faculty, staff, and students from Front Range institutions attended, including CU Boulder, Naropa University, Colorado State University, University of Northern Colorado, Regis and more.

Dr. Sona Dimidjian, Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at CU Boulder, delivered a stunning keynote, "To Be of Benefit: The Promise of Contemplative Research and Practice," sharing her research findings on mindfulness and self-compassion practices and reflecting on the broader implications for contemplative practices in promoting individual healing and social change. The day included breakout sessions on the Classroom Experience, the Mindful Campus, Contemplative Education, Mental Health and Mindfulness, and more, plus a Contemplative Practices Sampler with contemplative movement, listening meditation, gratitude and loving kindness.
