The Center for African & African American Studies (CAAAS) is eager to invite you to "The CAAAS Cultural Connection," a special welcome and orientation event designed exclusively for new and transfer Black identifying students. This event strives to create a friendly and inclusive environment. In addition, students will have the chance to connect, access valuable resources, speak with faculty, staff, and other students, and embark on a transformative journey within the CAAAS community and CU Boulder.
Join us for food, music, culture and Paint & Pot: Planting Dreams for the Semester.
The Black Student Programming Committee is a dynamic and inclusive community within the Center for African and African American Studies (CAAAS) at The University of Colorado Boulder. Committed to celebrating and advancing the cultural richness and heritage of the African and African American experience, this committee provides an engaging platform for students to collaborate, innovate, and lead.
At the heart of the committee's mission is the creation and execution of a diverse range of events, programs, and initiatives that highlight the achievements and contributions of Black individuals and communities and foster meaningful connections and conversations.
The purpose of this program is to create a cohort of students that actively participate in community engagement and acknowledge, appreciate, and exemplify intersectional African diasporic culture. Using innovative approaches to examine Blackness through a culturally relevant scholarly lens, these students are the voice of the CAAAS and will engage in intentional professional, personal, and intellectual development.
