Melissa was raised outside of Nashville, Tennessee, and attended East Tennessee State University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a German minor. After undergrad, Melissa was selected as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and spent a year teaching both English and German at a vocational high school in Frankfurt, Germany.
After working for a few years in the Chicago nonprofit sector, Melissa moved to Boulder to attend law school at the University of Colorado. As a full-time law student and a part-time German tutor at ALTEC, she prepares students for exams, helps reinforce grammatical concepts, and assists students who are planning to study abroad.
