Karen brings 15 years of experience in education and language instruction to her role at ALTEC and has been at CU Boulder for over 7 years working on new student orientations, student/scholar programming, and was faculty at the International English Center. She served as a program manager at for the Foreign Fulbright program, where she organized seminars, assisted US students with applying for scholarships, and advised international students in the Rocky Mountain region. Karen has lived and worked abroad extensively. She has traveled to more than 50 different countries and appreciates working with students from all over the world. Most notably, Karen taught English to K-12 students and conducted teacher training in Nicaragua and Chile. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from CU Boulder, and a Master’s in Education with a specialization in International and Comparative Education from Northcentral University.
