ALTEC is seeking applicants for a student artist to create an art installation for The HIVE @ALTEC community space in response to the connection between culture, language and change. The piece will move to a swing space for the Fall 2023 semester during the Hellems renovation and back to the new ALTEC space post-renovation, and it should embody a sense of forward thinking. Reviewers will be evaluating proposals for creativity as well as practicality and will be looking for a strong focus on language, innovation, and change.
Details
The space is approximately 60 square feet and includes one full wall, and artists are welcome to utilize as much or as little of the space as required by the project. Interactive initiatives are encouraged, and attendants at The HIVE will be available to monitor activity as necessary.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the connection between art and language, an understanding of intercultural communication, and a unique perspective on community, within CU and globally. All artistic mediums are welcome.
Compensation
ALTEC can provide compensation, including materials and installation support, up to $1000.
