Creating Community with LGBTQ+ Educators
The team at A Queer Endeavor got a small grant to support Boulder County educators who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
What we know is that right now, in this political moment, attacks on equity and justice in education are pervasive and on the rise, and they often target the most marginalized educators. As an organization that addresses queer topics in education, LGBTQ educators often reach out, craving community. Applying for this grant was our attempt to honor such requests. Our idea is to engage in outreach and community-building amongst a diverse group of LGBTQ+ educators, with the goal of creating a transformative collective for equity- and justice-oriented learning, community, and healing. We know the tireless work that educators engage in to address equity issues in their classrooms. Our intention in creating this collective is to give these educators a break. To come together for connection, solidarity, laughter, joy, and adventure. We ask that allies sit this one out. If you'd like to join, reach out to us with our contact form.
