Richard Kuchenrither receives awards

Richard Kuchenrither, CU-Boulder scholar in residence and director of the CEAE water engineering and management program, has received the 2014 Robert W. Hite Distinguished Leadership Award from the Water Environment Federation (WEF), on behalf of Water for People.

The Hite award recognizes individuals who model leadership excellence through innovation, creativity and deep commitment to the mission and vision of Water for People. The annual award honors a person who is forward thinking and truly envisions a world where all people have access to safe water and sanitation facilities.

Kuchenrither has promoted the need for clean water as a volunteer, a member of the Water for People Board and a former past president of WEF. According to WEF, “Dick lives and promotes the shared vision of a world where all people have access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene facilities. He has participated in country visits to see Water for People’s work in Honduras, Peru and Bolivia and currently serves as an Ambassador of Water for People.”

Congratulations, Prof. Kuchenrither!
