Jon Zeljo is Senior Staff Associate at the Program for Teaching East Asia at the Center for Asian Studies, University of Colorado Boulder.  He received his BA in history from Duke University and MA in East Asian studies, with a concentration in China, from the University of Virginia.  He joined TEA in 2007, after twelve years as an administrator and Asian studies teacher at the secondary level, including as Director of Chinese Studies at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC.  As China Projects Coordinator at TEA, he assists in the design and implementation of all China programs.  Since 2010, he has served as Principal Investigator and Program Director for TEA’s federally funded STARTALK Chinese language teacher-training program.  Starting in 2009, Zeljo helped develop TEA’s online learning program for teacher professional development; he currently coordinates TEA’s online platform systems and teaches online courses on China.
