During these uncertain times, many students may be wondering if any organizations are hiring. While there have been changes in the workforce due to the impacts of COVID-19, many companies and industries are needed now more than ever and are continuing to hire. Here are some tips and resources for finding a job during uncertain times.
Things to consider
As you job search, do your best to keep an open mind about the available positions and companies that are hiring. While many job postings are currently for hourly positions, starting in an entry-level role can be a viable option, especially for students who have an immediate need for work. Oftentimes, these types of jobs are in large corporations that have professional jobs and other roles with salaries. Starting in an entry-level position can be an opportunity to demonstrate your value as an employee and be considered for future promotions.
We know you’ve invested a lot in your education, and we are hopeful over the coming months that employers that regularly recruit and hire CU Boulder students for career positions will be hiring again soon.
Companies hiring right now
Some businesses remain essential right now, and there are many companies who are still hiring. For example:
- King Soopers
- Start-ups in Colorado
- CVS Health
- Acceleration Partners

When you find a job that interests you, do your research on the organization to see if it will be a good fit. Read company reviews on Glassdoor (students have free access through the eResource Library) and research to find information about how they treat their employees, safety measures, overtime hours and access to paid time off.
