CU Boulder Career Services is excited to announce the launch of Handshake, a new online career management system that connects students, alumni, and employers. This new system replaced Career Buffs in summer 2017. Among the many upgraded features, Handshake allows students and alumni to:
· Browse a database of job and internship opportunities based on major and interests
· Manage a modern profile that highlights career and academic achievements
· Schedule appointments with Career Services staff
· Discover career-related events and programs on campus
· Explore professional development resources
· Organize interviews with employers
“Handshake not only gives our students and alumni the proper tools for career discovery but makes recruiting CU Boulder students a seamless process,” said Cherie Wilcox, associate director of operations for the Career Services office. “The new intuitive interface and upgraded tools for discovering jobs, internships and events allow us to tailor the career development process for everyone.”
The new system launched to employers Monday, June 12 to begin posting job and internship opportunities as well as schedule on-campus interviews. Students and alumni will activate their profiles on Monday, June 19. A complete guide to setting up a profile and navigating the new system is available on the Career Services website.
“We are committed to empowering students and alumni to be active participants in the career development process,” said Wilcox. “We think Handshake will be a huge tool in accomplishing this.”
Students and alumni can schedule appointments with Career Services for training on how to use Handshake and can email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Career Buffs will not be accessible after Friday, June 30. Students and alumni should revisit their account to retrieve resumes, cover letters and other documents stored in the old system. All new opportunities and events will only be available in Handshake.
Employers can find more detailed information about how to post opportunities within the system on the employer section of the Career Services website.
