PhD Candidate

Elle is a PhD student in Civil Engineering with a focus on Hydrology, Water Resources, and Environmental Fluid Mechanics. She is co-advised by Dr. Zagona and Dr. Kasprzyk and funded through the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program. Her research focuses on investigating water management in the Colorado River Basin through multi-objective optimization and robust decision making frameworks.

Elle completed a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Washington as well as a BA in Physical Science from Seattle Pacific University, where she gained perspective on the ethical and social implications of engineering decisions. She then served a year in Americorps working on climate adaptation. Over the next five years she worked as a Civil Engineer for consultants and a large public water utility, earning her Professional Engineer license in California and Colorado.

Elle enjoys exploring the mountains via hiking, biking, and camping with her family.
