William Barker is currently Chairman of Shape Technologies Group, Inc, Chairman of Dynatect Group Holdings, Inc, and is also a Board member at The Carlstar Group LLC, Huhtamäki Oyj (a $3+ billion consumer packaging company traded on the NASDAQ in Europe), and the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder. Prior to his current responsibilities, Barker was Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Milacron LLC, a leading manufacturer of plastic injection, blow molding, and extrusion equipment, as well as plastic delivery and control systems. Barker came to Milacron upon the acquisition of Mold-Masters Ltd, the global leader in plastic melt delivery and control systems, where he was President and CEO. Barker joined Mold-Masters at its global headquarters in Toronto, Canada in 2010 after his retirement from Rexam PLC in 2009 where he served as Group Executive Director of Rexam’s $6+ billion global Beverage Can business. Barker was on the Board of Directors of Rexam PLC from 2005-2009. With Rexam being a FTSE 100 company on the London Stock Exchange, he was based at the company’s headquarters in London. Prior to 2005, he was President and CEO of Rexam Beverage Can Americas based in Chicago. Barker built on the organization’s 100-plus year history by implementing a strategy to create a global company that was market driven and underpinned by world class operations. During his tenure, Rexam created and introduced a whole new range of products into the marketplace. It also expanded its geographic footprint with acquisitions and Greenfield investments in emerging markets like South America, Russia, the Middle East, and India. Rexam grew to become the largest can manufacturer in the world, producing over 60 billion cans per year. Barker joined Rexam from the Chicago-based Commercial Solutions Group of Textron Fastening Systems, where he was President. Prior to that, he was President of OEA Automotive Safety Products, a NYSE listed company that made airbag inflators and initiators. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Colorado.
