Sharaya M. Jones is a PhD student in Marketing at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Sharaya received her B.Com in Management and Marketing with High Distinction at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. There she placed consistently on the Dean’s List and worked as a Research Assistant at the MacDonald Social Psychology Lab. She joined the doctoral program in 2015.
Sharaya’s research focuses on both consumer decision making and product development. On the consumer side, she looks at the impact of external influences on choice and consumer welfare. Select topics include decision-making in social groups, health and fitness, and charitable giving. On the product side, she looks at innovation and new products.
Sharaya teaches Advertising and Promotion in the undergraduate program. She has been a teaching assistant for Advertising and Promotion and Pricing at the undergraduate level, and Marketing Management at the MBA level. She has also guest lectured on Publicity, PR, and Corporate Advertising.
Prior to joining the doctoral program, Sharaya worked as a marketing manager at a software company in downtown Toronto.
