Scott is the tax practice leader in Denver for Grant Thornton. His background includes over 20 years of providing tax consulting, compliance, accounting and business advice to closely-held owner-operated businesses as well as large multinational corporations.
As Tax Practice Leader, Scott is also responsible for the delivery of services and tax savings solutions from Grant Thornton’s specialty service groups, such as accounting methods, compensation and benefits, mergers & acquisitions, lead advisory services, international tax planning, valuation services, and state & local taxation services. Additionally, Scott’s practice includes significant experience in supporting quarterly and year-end financial statement audits and the application of ASC 740 (formerly Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No. 109, Accounting for Income Taxes) and ASC 740-10 (formerly FASB Interpretation No. 48, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes). Professional qualifications and memberships: He is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry Tax Council, and alumni of Access Denver. Scott’s community involvement includes the Board of Governors for the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, Board of Trustees for the National Sports Center for the Disabled, and Dean’s Advisory Board for the University of Colorado Boulder Leeds’ School of Business.
