Biography

Tathagat Mukhopadhyay is an Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Leeds School of Business. Prior to joining the academic world, Tathagat worked as an investment banker for five years, primarily engaged in equity capital raising and corporate finance advisory services. His academic research frequently draws upon his institutional knowledge and real world experience to analyze information dynamics in the capital markets and to test predictions from economic theory using empirical research methods. Overall, Tathagat is interested in understanding how firms communicate with institutional investors, whether foreign or domestic, and the influence of disclosures on capital market participants. His research also explores various platforms used by firms worldwide to provide information to investors in either private or public settings.

Tathagat currently teaches Principles of Accounting and Finance (BCOR 2002) to undergraduate students in the Leeds School of Business.
